In & Around Whitford

Blink and you'll miss it!  Three roads lead into Whitford - all meet at the same roundabout.  This tiny village is worth an hour or two of your time.  Only a short drive from Manukau City yet a world away from the hustle and bustle of the inner-city.

There are a few specialist shops to tempt you!  Have a coffee and snack and the Bakehouse Cafe or Brunch at The General Store, also renowned for its main restaurant menu.

Stop by at Ayrlies Garden on the way to Maraetai. Whitford Bird Garden is just a little way outside the village in Trig Road but, regretfully, is currently closed due to severe drought conditions.

Maraetai - A meeting place by the Sea, looking across to the Coromandel.  Fringed by beautiful countryside.  This is a special place steeped in Māori heritage.
